Artist Statement

I am drawn to material that is considered waste.  I want to find the beauty of the material while also commenting on our society's consumption and waste relationship.

I have been struggling with how to connect and present my 6-pack rings.  I decided I want to wear them.  So I am in the process of making a wedding dress with them.  A wedding dress because I am getting married this summer and I find it really absurd  the cost and waste of a wedding dress in our culture.  I am also interested in the amount of waste weddings produce.
